The U.S. solar industry installed 11.4 gigawatts direct current of capacity in the second quarter of 2026, according to Wood Mackenzie and the Solar Energy Industries Association’s latest market analysis.
Wood Mackenzie says the total was up 45% from the same quarter a year earlier and 43% from the first quarter. Utility-scale installations drove the increase, while residential solar continued to face pressure after the expiration of the residential tax credit.
