Oakland-based nonprofit launches second campaign on Climatize platform to scale plug-in solar access.

Oakland, California-based solar nonprofit Bright Saver has launched its second crowdfunding campaign through the climate investment platform Climatize, aiming to scale access to plug-in solar systems. The effort follows the organization’s first offering in June 2025, which exceeded its target by 248%.

The nonprofit provides balcony solar kits at cost to members through a $29 annual membership. A 180 W system is offered at $285.30, with Bright Saver purchasing panels and equipment in bulk to pass savings to consumers.

Bright Saver co-CEO Cora Stryker stated the organization is building a model to make clean energy technologies easier to access and intends to apply the same approach to batteries, heat pumps, and energy financing.
