The Valencia, Spain-based manufacturer aims to deliver up to 40 GW of annual production capacity.

Power Electronics has broken ground on a new 53-acre manufacturing campus near Houston, Texas, aiming to deliver up to 40 GW of annual production capacity and create more than 400 jobs. The facility, which will include two buildings, is designed to house production, logistics, R&D, and corporate offices, with a primary focus on automated inverter manufacturing. Solar Builder reports that the project is intended to support the growing demand for utility-scale renewable energy driven by AI data center buildout and utility electrification.

“For the first time in many years, the United States will be able to meet its growing need for sustainable power generation capacity and energy resilience through local manufacturing,” said Power Electronics CEO David Salvo. Solar Builder reports that the company views the U.S. as a key market in its global strategy, noting it has installed more than 116 GW of energy generation across the country.
