ForeFront Power and the County of Ventura announced completion of a solar-and-storage project at the Ventura County Government Center. The project pairs a 5.8-MW solar canopy with a 1.9-MW battery at the county complex.
The 7.7-MW project was developed through a power-purchase agreement with no upfront cost from the county. ForeFront Power developed, owns, and maintains the system, while the county projects more than $21 million in energy-cost savings over 20 years.
For local governments, the model shows how on-site generation and storage can be structured around operating-cost control rather than only new renewable procurement. The projected savings are specific to Ventura County’s agreement and should not be treated as a savings estimate for another property or public agency.
