Terawatt PV Research released the first U.S. solar manufacturing ratings pyramid during the inaugural Solar Manufacturing USA 2026 event in Austin, Texas. The Q3 2026 report ranks 22 domestic manufacturers using a new methodology focused on production volumes and manufacturing capital expenditure (capex). First Solar is the only company rated AAA, with six companies rated A or above. The remaining companies are primarily active at single stages of the silicon-based value chain. Collectively, the 22 companies account for more than 95% of U.S. production output and manufacturing capex.
